Noh(Gender)-Project #3
I just finished fixing up my rough draft, adding pictures, and citing all my work. I really hope i did a good job on it. From doing this project I learned a lot of things about Noh. Even though I'm not Japanese I really enjoying learned about Noh. One of the things that i really enjoyed about Noh is that there is a big increase in number of girl performers than in the past. It just shows that the community is more welcoming of female actors now. What also was pretty amazing is that some of the girls were able to mimic the voices of male actors while they are singing, which is probably the hardest thing for a female actors to do. What got me into Noh was that it was mostly about warrior heroes, if i was to see a Noh performance i will like to see one with demons and heroes and stuff, that would be very cool. Hopefully in the future i will be able to see a Noh performance.
What is Hip-Hop Theatre?
Hip-Hop theatre is the retelling of a story. It keep the important parts and with those parts they will make a whole different thing. Will Power said that there really isn't any new stories because it is always the same issue that have been around. I agree with this because even today, most of the movies and shows are based on the same thing, but are delivered differently. Hip-Hop theatre is very important about language. There is a lot of things you have to do while performing like: rhyme, dance, and even sing. When i saw that they use tracks of well-known artists that many young people will know, like Jay-Z or Ciara, in their plays i think that is cool. The audience will be able to relate to the music in the play. This seem like a very cool type of theatre. I find it pretty cool that they are able to take out the important parts of some stories and use them to create a whole different thing. I also liked how they try to use well-known artists tracks in there plays, it give me something to relate to when i hear the track playing.

What is Theatre To Me Now?
At the beginning of the course, I wasn't really into theatre. I thought it was boring, but after watching some of the plays like Emma, Proof, and the one with the dinosaur I'm really enjoying it now. I never thought that theatre can be this good. At first i thought it was like boring stuff that i like and nothing really weird about it, but i was wrong theatre can almost be anything. The three plays that i watched were all so different, one is about a love story, another about a female math genius, and the third one just got me confused because i didn't know what was going on. I think my favorite one is probably Proof, because it just shows that women are able to achieve things themselves. I really wanted to a see improv performance, there is one today, but i will be unable to make it because i have to study for finals. But next year i will totally look out for a improv performance, so i can watch it. At the beginning of the course, i was not into theatre, but at the end of it I really enjoy it and will probably watch more even after the course is over!
Noh-Gender(Women)-Rough Draft blog #2
I found a lot of new information about women Noh performers. Like i said in the first blog, i said it was pretty hard to find information about some Noh performers, but i was able to find some. It wasn't easy, it took some time, but what made it even worse, was that sometimes the information would be in Japanese so when it was translated it was kind of hard to understand. But i was able to figure it out. While writing the rough draft, it was hard putting everything together, but overall in the end i feel like it is pretty good. I still have to put some more information in, but I'll do it in my final draft. I also need to find some pictures for my paper, but i have a idea of what I'm gonna put.

Noh Theatre-Blog 1
Noh Theatre was a good choice. There were some parts where it was easier to find like basically information, women role in it, what the mask represent, and etc. But of course there was some information that was like impossible to find. It was like impossible to find any information about the women actors that i found. I tried looking them up, like the first professional women actor in Noh, but all i could found was a book. I tried looking up others, but once again i couldn't find anything about it. I will keep on looking and hope i can find something about a women noh actor, it will really make my paper a lot better.

Noh(Gender Role)~ Paper Subject
Noh is a Japanese theatre that took place in the 11th to 19th century. Most of the plays were focused around warrior heroes. Even though it took place back then you are still able to watch Noh plays today. The gender in most of those plays back then were men because women were not allowed to act in these plays. But recently more women have been trained in Noh and are able to act in Noh now. When acting in Noh the actors perform either as a male or female. They usually wear mask that represent them, which can be either a male or female.
